Emilio Parrilla Acoustic Band

Imagen

"Somehow, Jimmy Giuffre is always a reference for jazz clarinetist. And I say somehow, because his sound and musicality is so personal that it is really difficult adapt his music to my own musicality. Nevertheless there is a dimension in his music that always caught my attention. This tribute to Jimmy is a pending debt with his concept of chamber music in jazz.”

L'Chaim

Picture

L'Chaim makes music that leans on Eastern-European traditions, and interprets these in an entirely unique and energetic manner. The band started in 2006, and consists of eight musicians from the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. With a background in the klezmer, Balkan, pop, jazz, Iranian and Spanish music they create a refreshing and danceable mix.

66Whales

Picture

66whales is musical laboratory for experimenting with different sounds. The
various ways of dealing with composition and the many influences that come together do not preclude the search for a personal sound. This ensemble breaks with the individualism of jazz, opting instead for the group spirit of rock bands of the 70‘s.
Trying to define the music of 66whales carries the risk of endless lists of adjectives, movements and styles of music. Assuming that risk, we find musical influences in jazz, rock, contemporary music, folk and film music.

Cuentacuentos Gatopez

"Storytelling Gatopez" are Emilio and Raul Lucas Parrilla, two Spanish musicians and storytellers who develop an activity of creating shows, stories and music since 2000.

Their shows are developed from the story and the music, and are designed to be counted and sung at all ages, cans, umbrellas, and giraffes.
The style of "Storytelling Gatopez" is characterized by the use of inanimate objects as characters, the music as a natural element in the story; improvisation as a resource for interaction with the viewer, and gestural expression.

La Barca de Sua

Picture

A pioneering copyleft band, La Barca de Sua formed in the Albaycin, a neighborhood on a mountain overlooking the Alhambra and the downtown area of Granada, Spain. Raúl Lucas (spanish guitar, composer), Luigi Ramos (electric guitar), Ignacio García (bass) and Inwit Puntotk (percussion), Carmen Caballero (vocals) and Emilio Parrilla (clarinet, sax) create music that feels like pop but draws inspiration from dub, progressive rock, jazz, and a heavy dose of regional flamenco.
